FESTIVAL HILL HERO
DAVE THE POET

Festival hill, Folk West show
Laughing, Picking, Flashlights aglow
Mother and son, Talked of the day
Kettle corn, Games they played
Sealed tomorrow’s plans, With a secret handshake
Some older kids, Played truth or dare
He asked his Mom, If she was scared
Looking up, Through little boys eyes
Mother smiling, Trying not to cry
He took her hand, Stood up proud
Then his little foot, Stomped down
Said “I’m the man of this house now”
It’s you and me, Against the world
If you hadn’t noticed, You’re a girl
So with my eagle eyes, I’ll look left and right
Always defend, Do what’s right
Be brave of heart, Avoid a fight

Together, Forever me and you
I’m your Guardian Angel Mom, You’re mine too
Meteors danced, For a room full of stars
On the late night stage, Played Venus and Mars
A dreamy boy, Becomes a man
A super hero, Whose powers comes from you
I’m your Guardian Angel Mom, You’re mine too

Sun came up, Coffee went on
The air again, Filled with music and song
Nestled on my lap, The pine trees swayed
He said “I love you Mom in so many ways
You sure do, Look pretty today
You’re in my heart, In everything I do
I’m your Guardian Angel, You’re mine too”
And with that, He got up and walked away
My little man, Went off to play
I closed my eyes, Some time to pray
Every day, Is Mothers day
A super hero, Whose powers comes from you
I’m your Guardian Angel Mom, You’re mine too
