Where did things go so wrong
Got no job, Lost my home
No pension or health care
Left out in the cold
Planned for my future
At least I tried
To provide for my family
Never expected a free ride
For twenty years
I worked my shift
Showed up everyday
Bought company stock, Had a 401k
Got a letter today

It’s all gone away
First they cut my hours
Then reduced my pay
Took away my benefits
Said it was the only way
As a company man
I’d have to give some back
Be part of the team
Pick up the slack

What I don’t understand
Think is kind of bizarre
My boss made millions
Got planes and cars
While my family goes without
Its corporate greed
Simple and true
They don’t give a shit
About me or you
I’ll do my best
Try and find a way
Got kids who need
Bills to pay
I just need a break
I hope it happens soon
