PINE ISLAND LIFE
DAVE THE POET

Most of the time
The sun always shines
The rain comes in sheets
Evening trade winds blow
Another week on Pine Island
Don’t you know

Monday starts the dream
Watching the sea birds fly
The dolphins dance like Angels
Waiting for the sun to rise

Tuesdays always special
Fresh fruit off the vine
Visit Miccelies, When Noel’s working
It’s always Christmas time
Oysters, Shrimp and clams
Stick around and watch the band

Wednesday a trip to Sanibel
Enjoy a sailboat ride
Collect some shells

Cast off the Bokeelia pier
The fish are like tourists
They come all year

Thursday is made for Mattlache
Visit your wild child
Leave some foot prints in the sand
Stop at Bert’s
For Deb and the Dynamics
Dance were you stand

Friday let it all hang out
Head to St. James City
Meet Carmen
For a kayak walk about
Sit under a palm
Watch the turtles swim by
Visit with a grouper
While you scuba dive

When the weekend comes
Visit Bubbas for a margarita
Angie’s at Woody’s
Some reggae on the radio
Sit back and enjoy the show

My advise
Say your prayers
Sell everything you own
Maybe some day
You’ll be lucky enough
To call Pine Island your home
