EARTH DAY
DAVE THE POET
On earth day, There is no religion or politics
Be blessed, On your journey
We only have one planet
On which to live
Welcome Mother Earth, With a kiss and a smile
Surrender to her, Feel her pain
Our sins fall, In her fertile rains
Listen to her, As she breathes
Comfort her, As she sleeps
Her purity lives, Within our dreams
But cut her soul, Like us she bleeds
Teach your children, About the trees
To live among, The birds and bees
Cure her shores, Of poverty
May the oceans live, In freedom and peace
Float inside, A rainbow cloud
Sing it loud, Sing it proud
Earth Day love, Pure and free
Earth Day love, For you and me
Peace and love, The joy that brings
Honeybees and butterfly wings
Do your part everyday
Give Mother Nature a break
We are all, Just passing through
So think, Before you take
The world is changing, Every day
We all need, To give thanks and pray
Pray for love, Pray for rain, Pray for peace
Heal the pain
Understand want and need
Love thy neighbor, We succeed
Render extinct, Corporate greed
On Earth Day, There is no religion or politics
Be blessed, On your journey
We only have one planet
On which to live
Jane Goodall, Yule Gibbons, Marlon Perkins, Rutherford Platte
Sunday nights with Jacques Cousteau
Soul-changing cruises, Aboard the Calypso
Forgotten warriors, Your children should know
Mother love, Mother Earth
Giver of life, Heaven’s birth
We are the world, We have a choice
A future where green, Is pro-choice
On Earth Day, There is no religion or politics
Be blessed, On your journey
We only have one planet
On which to live!
