HARD I FELL
DAVE THE POET

It’s hard, To rise above
When you’re lying, On the ground
Walls, Start to crash
In the silence, Your heart pounds
Alone is alone
Darkness, Without sound
Everybody, As one
Above you, Looking down
It’s hard, To be humble
When you’re crying, On the ground

The rug got pulled
Hard I fell
Living with Dante
In the paradise, He calls hell
Standing up
Is easier said than done
Crawl turns to walk
Broken never runs
Through the dark clouds and shadows
Where is the sun

Nobody knows
What nobody sees
The Angels and Devils
That live inside me
The challenges we face
For our souls to live free
The future is coming
I’ve seen it in my dreams
Spring never comes
If winter never leaves

Born to live
Raised to die
Everything in between
Is life in disguise
Choose to be happy
Know you’ll be sad
The days you battle for love
Are the only victories you’ll have

Every day alive
Is a blessing and a curse
When you run out of road
Is that better or worse
Time slowly punishes
You’ll never win that fight
Realize you are God
Things will be alright

It’s hard, To rise above
When you’re lying, On the ground
Walls, Start to crash
In the silence, Your heart pounds
Alone is alone
Darkness, Without sound
Everybody, As one
Above you, Looking down
It’s hard, To be humble
When you’re crying, On the ground
