NO SOLITARY IN THIS PRISON
DAVE THE POET

Silence can heal, Break or bend
Will still be a God, When all time ends
Wordless in flight, Let everything go
Many spirits, Which to follow
In dreams, I am powerful
Second to none

Pill’s dance with whiskey
Devil loads the gun
Somewhere in a sad song
The end has begun
No one else to blame
Know what needs to be done
If I don’t pull the trigger
The voices have not won

There is a sadness in me, I can’t shake
Working overtime, Before I wake
The mind talks, I listen
No solitary, In this prison
Not a question, Of right or wrong
They all scream, Their own song
Openly lost, Never on track
Intuition, Fades to black
Every step, A closed door
Opened to find, No walls or floor
A landing, From which few walk away
I survived, Another second today

Stand and fight, No place to run
You against, The prodigal son
Every day, It must be done
Tears, I ain’t got none
It saddens me to say
Sometimes, The strong don’t survive
Their knowledge of the past
Will better future lives

Pill’s dance with whiskey
Devil loads the gun
Somewhere in a sad song
The end has begun
No one else to blame
Know what needs to be done
If I don’t pull the trigger
The voices have not won
