PROM QUEEN
DAVE THE POET

Will you meet me in heaven
Will I recognize your face
Eyes never lie, First ones you see
I’ll be waiting at the gate

Miss her, It’s been almost a year
She made me better, Can’t wait to see her
Childhood stories, Would paint my sky’s
Thunder and pain, Rain-bowed sunrise
Knew every stars name
Was the queen of her prom
Loved and missed, Forever Mom

Last breath taken, Never ends
In trusted moments, New life begins
I’ve heard it laugh, Felt it cry
It howls in the hills, When the moon is high
In a storm I’m warm, Have comfort of place
Your parts of me, Are my saving grace
Not here, Never gone, Loved and missed, Forever mom

I bet your looking down, All pissed off
I didn’t do the dishes, Rolled not folded my socks
Have you noticed, Our family is fine
Your granddaughter, Is a drama queen
When she cries, She has your eyes
My brand new son
I’m going to teach him, All about love
So, in every laugh shared
When our dreams come true
Angels gifts, From God and you

Will you meet me in heaven
Will I recognize your face
Eyes never lie, First ones you see
I’ll be waiting at the gate
Knew every stars name, Was the queen of her prom
Loved and missed, Forever Mom
